One of Life's greatest teacher: HOSUR ROAD

This is not a philosophical take on life. I'm too young and/or innocent still to get there where one becomes philosophical (and actually publishes in blogs). This is about Hosur Road, the long stretch of frustration in Bangalore.

The other day Sumanth was telling me, "If you know how to drive in Hosur Road, you can drive anywhere in the world!!!" U know what? He's right!!!

If you are driving in Hosur Road, you need to possess the following abilities...
i. Patience, the abiltity to wait upto fifteen mins, not moving, and thinking when the vehicle in front will start moving
ii. Quick Reaction/Thinking, to apply brakes all of a sudden to avoid hitting or getting hit
iii. Perfect Manoeuverity, to get into whatever spaces that are available
iv. Good Judgement, when to speed up, when to slow down
v. Good Foresight, you need to able to see ahead and plan out your route, for e.g., whether to overtake on the left side or the right side
vi. Concentration, well, frankly, if you don't ve it, you better be insured.
vii.Energetic, to be able to work at office after one hour of driving
viii. And willingness to take Risks, if you want to reach faster, that is. (This is an optional requirement, mainly for people who gets inspired by Mountain Dew/ThumbsUp ads).

So, you can see, if you are a good driver in Hosur Road, you can drive on any highway.
Also, driving in Hosur road prepares you to be a good manager* . There's not much difference in the skill abilties that you need to possess to become a good manager or to start driving in Hosur Road.

Hosur Road teaches us many things if you know how to learn. On the whole, it instills in you valuable values. Maybe, that's why the govt. is going is introduce a toll tax now since good education doesn't come cheap. Now, they(govt n TOI, that is) are saying that an elevated expressway is going to be built over Hosur Road. I've mixed feelings about this.

Well, I'll wind up with this beautiful saying, which is on the way to become an adage...

"Life is like Hosur Road, There is no shortcut" **

Till Next Time,
Bij Chabs

*For my more gullible readers who're aspiring to become managers, please do not start driving in Hosur Road. Prepare well for your CAT/GMAT instead. The author takes no responsibility in this regard.

**I searched for the esteemed guru(my respect to her/him) who invented this saying for copyright. I can't find her/him. My sincere apology.
